As your constituent, I’m deeply concerned about the lack of independent oversight of Ontario’s Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Children's Aid Societies, School Boards, Universities and Police by the Ombudsman.

Allowing theses publicly funded institutions to oversee themselves and only providing weak Provincial Review Boards lacking investigative powers is grossly insufficient as we will continue to see in the media.

I’m aware, Ontario is the only Province in Canada not allowing independent investigations of these institutions and I want you to take the lead in protecting your vulnerable constituents by expanding the Ombudsman mandate to include Ontario’s Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Children's Aid Societies, School Boards, Universities and Police.
